Greengram/(Mung Dal) 1/2 cup
Ghee 1 Tsp
Onion Chopped 2 Tbsp
Garam masala 1 Tsp
Mustard seeds 1 Tsp
Grated ginger 1/2 Tsp /
Asafoetida 1/4 Tsp
Oil 2 Tbsp
Cilantro chopped 1 Tbsp
Pastry flour and water to make dough 1/2 cup
Salt 1 Tbsp or to taste
1 Heat 2 tbsp ghee or oil in a skillet over low heat. Saute the onion, asafoetida, mustard seeds & ginger until the onion is golden brown
2 Stir in garam masala and salt. Mix thoroughly
3 IAdd greengram, cover the pan & cook over moderate heat until the beans are tender.
4 Stir in cilantro & remove from heat. Divide into 8 portions.
5 Brush one half moon of pastry with water & fold into a cone. Fill each cone with 1 portion above mixture seal the top. Repeat with remaining pastry.
5 Heat enough ghee in a large skillet to deep-fry 4 samosas at once until golden brown on both sides. Remove from heat & drain well,serve hot
